Nitrous Oxide Sedation

Nitrous oxide is also referred to as laughing gas – a mild sedative that generates a calming and relaxing experience for children and adults. Its administration via a nasal mask allows for easy inhalation, producing almost immediate effects that help ward off anxiety and nervousness, replacing them with comfort, warmth, and a carefree experience. The best part is that once the mask is removed, the effects wear off within minutes.

Oral Conscious Sedation

Oral conscious sedation is slightly more powerful than nitrous oxide and is designed to help patients enter a more relaxed state while remaining unfazed by the work being completed by our dentists. The prescribed pill that is taken before the appointment starts to work by the time you arrive at our office, allowing you to feel comfortable and at ease while in the dental chair. A driver is required to and from an appointment with oral sedation.

IV Dental Sedation

IV sedation produces an almost sleep-like state that patients appreciate. Although the individual is not fully sedated, they may remain unaware of their surroundings and experience temporary amnesia, which can be helpful for those who dislike dental visits. It’s administered intravenously into the hand or arm, and the effects require time to wear off afterward, so a family member or friend will need to drive you home.
